City Hopes All Over?

Manchester City's pursuit of the Premier League title looks to be all over after Arteta netted the deciding goal in last night match, marketing the 7th win of the gunner in the last 8 games. Earlier in the day, Manchester United beat the 10 men QPR 2-0, to widen the gap to 8 points.

Mikel Arteta's late goal earned all three points against Man City. The second placed team was defeated 1-0, trailing 8 points behind MU. With 6 games left, it seems to be an impossible mission for City, given the stability of the Red Devil since 2012, plus they have been in this situation for too long to lose their grip at critical moments. The results also sees Arsenal return to third place, with 5 points clear of fifth-placed Chelsea.

Arsenal has the better momentum heading into the match, and enjoyed the better of an opening period in which City saw key midfielder Yaya Toure limp off with a knee problem.

After endless opportunity, Arsene Wenger's men got the reward they deserved with Arteta's low drive beat Hart from 20 yards, and City's misery was worsened when Balotelli was sent off after the second yellow card.

In earlier game, QPR went down to 2-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford after having had to play 75 minutes with 10 men.
