Chelsea and Real Advance to Semi


Although playing with 10 men squad, Benfica was able to shorten the odds with a goal at 85'. This certainly wasn't enough, and the matter was concluded at 91' when Raul Meireles ended the game with another goal for Chelsea. 

Chelsea Frank Lampard team celeb v BEnfica Raul Meireles scored a late goal at 91' to secure an aggregated 3-1 for the Stamford Bridge team last night, where they beat Benfica 2-1. Chelsea's win was considered by many a stroke of lucks awarded by the referee.   The penalty controversial decision at 21' was executed neatly by Lampard gave the Blues the lead. Further decision favoring Chelsea at 40', saw the referee sent off Benfica captain.


On the other quarter final of the night, Real Madrid cruised past APOEL Nicoisa, thrashing the minnows 5-2 at  Bernabeu to secure a convincing aggregate victory of 8-2.

Cristiano Ronaldo bagged a brace, the second of which was the first free kick he scored this season, making his overall goal to 49.

APOEL tried its best, having scored two away goals, Manduca netting to make it 3-1 and Solari converting a penalty for 4-2 as the historic campaign of the Cypriots finally came to an end.
